Custom Designed Power Rack System.
EA-Elektro-Automatik and Danica have great expertise gained through solving many different custom power rack applications. These involve both AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies together with various kinds of supervision modules, fusepanels, special power distribution, connections and mechanics.
High reliability, great flexibility and cost-effective solutions are some of the reasons to choose EA and Danica as your supplier of rack power systems:
Our systems can be operated both with full redundancy, power sharing (N+1 redundancy configurations) and with battery back-up either integrated in the rack or connected to existing facilities.
The systems are made using flexible eurocard units that can be quickly and easily "hot plugged" for service and repair.
Should your power requirements change in the future, the system can easily be upgraded due to the modular principle of the system and the large range of power supplies available from EA and Danica.
Battery back-up also allows high intermittent power :
Using the most sophisticated designs, the EA and Danica power systems are capable of delivering high intermittent power into changing load conditions without rating the total system for the "worst case" load.
The concept allows the batteries to deliver the extra power needed when load conditions exceed the rated power of the power supplies.
Typically, this will be the case in radio transmitting systems where the stand-by mode requires less power than the transmitting mode.
The positive side-effect of using the batteries, is that their life time is prolonged due to the constant charging and discharging conditions.
Description of the EA and Danica Back-Up System for Telecommunications.
EA's and Danica's new series of power and charging back-up systems are typically used in small and medium sized telecommunications applications, such as GSM base stations, telephone exchanges, fibre optic systems and repeaters, where continuous, uninterrupted power is required.
Many of these systems are already installed and working in most European countries.
Description : (Also refer to data sheets and block diagrams)
The power systems are built using standard eurocard modules which enables EA and Danica to produce reliable and cost effective systems adapted to the requirements of the customer and with a very short delivery.
All systems can be delivered with batteries in a 19" rack housing either for wall mounting or as stand alone units.
Power supplies:
The back-up systems are based on the AC/DC TELEPOWER converters from EA's and Danica's large range of power supplies. By using these units it is possible to built systems with output power up to 6kW with either single or three phase input.
The power supplies feature a special Full Power Load Sharing Circuit which enables up to 10 units to share a common load within a ±5% accuracy. This allows true N+1 redundancy for all power systems, giving far better reliability, fail safe operation, "Hot Plugging", and easy service and maintenance.
Power Factor Correction available. ( Power factor: 0.98)
For further information on the power supplies, please refer to the data sheets that follow.
Inputs/ outputs:
The AC-input and the outputs for battery back-up and alarm relays, are situated on the power distribution panel on the front of the rack or behind the front panel, making all connections easy and accessible. Both single and 3-phase versions are available. All connections and fuse panels can be designed according to customers specification.
Power distribution FD 01:
The power distribution from the system can be designed for each specific application, but EA and Danica offer a standard configuration with 10 individually fused lines: This takes the form of one fuse panel containing 10 fuses (3 with a 10A and 7 with a 6,3A rating) capable of supplying up to a total of 20A in a 48V system.
All lines are supervised for fuse failure by one of the monitor modules from the SM range. This is a series of 6TE euro-card modules which are also capable of monitoring up to 5 power supplies for mains failure, output failure plus faults in the system battery back-up.
All alarms will be given visually on the rack by LED's and via external relays for remote supervision. (For further information on supervision cards - please refer to the datasheet SM...)
Visual indication of Voltage and Current:
For total visual supervision, EA - 19''-rack systems are also equipped with a 3-digit volt/ammeter for constant read-out of the system load.
Enclosures:
These back-up systems are supplied completely wired (including batteries) either as 19"-rack systems or as euro columns in 3U or 6U plus distribution panels with connections for fused output/input lines, battery back-up, alarms etc. Enclosures meeting IP-55 ( IEC-529 ) are also available
